In 2006, Local attorney, Brad Elder, and a small group of entrepreneurs began discussing their ideas on making the title insurance industry better in Lubbock, Texas. We felt that providing superior service utilizing the latest in technology and hiring and empowering the brightest minds in Lubbock to deliver the absolute highest quality of service was vital to the success of a title company. The concept of Title One was born.

We believed that utilizing technological advances was key to truly building a different kind of title company. We knew the rest of the world was moving into the digital age, why not build a title company to do the same?

In January of 2009, we took on the unbelievably arduous task of building a fully digital title plant in Lubbock County – the first of its kind. With the help of the Kimmel-Morris Corporation, the leader in digital plant creation and maintenance, Title One has built a fully digital title plant that includes over five million indexed documents and counting. Over three years of hard work has culminated into the most innovative, efficient, powerful title plant in Lubbock County.

Because the title plant is fully digital,  our title searches are instantaneous.   No more dusting off the ancient books, no more handwriting long complicated abstracts, no more sending runners miles down to the courthouse to make dozen of copies from dozens of old deed books. This allows us to produce title commitments in a fraction of the time of the old paper title plants – 24 hours in most cases. This allows for title issues to be uncovered and cured well before closing and greatly decreases the need to postpone closings. No more waiting on title commitments for days and weeks, no more explaining to your clients why you have to postpone closings because the title company simply isn’t ready.

Having a fully digital title plant allows us to take our manpower out of the title plant and put it toward the most important step of the process – the closing. This allows us to streamline the closing process to offer one of the services we are most proud – if it funds today, you get paid today! We will even bring the check to you or deposit it in your bank. It’s just one more service that is evident in the Title One Difference.
